Mark Raven focuses his practice in real estate, corporate and international business transactions. Mr. Raven has served as counsel in connection with numerous large-scale commercial real estate projects located in both Arizona and Mexico, including tourism and agribusiness projects, marinas, retail shopping centers, health care facilities and office buildings. He also advises U.S. lenders regarding Mexican mortgages and real estate collateral and has closed numerous U.S. and cross-border loan transactions.

Mr. Raven has extensive experience in working with companies and individuals promoting economic development in Mexico, and has collaborated closely with Mexican local, state and federal government agencies in public-private partnerships and other collaborative efforts involving the Mexican government. Mr. Raven is fluent in Spanish and over the past fifteen years has traveled extensively to Mexico City, Baja California Sur and Sonora to negotiate and close business deals. Mr. Raven is a member of the Bi-National Board of Directors of the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce and Secretary of the National Law Center for Inter-American Free Trade in Tucson. He has lectured on cross-border law and practice at the Arizona State University and University of Arizona Colleges of Law.

A graduate of New York University and the Yale Law School, Mr. Raven first arrived in Tucson in 1969 to serve as a federally funded Reginald Heber Smith Community Law Fellow.  Prior to coming to Tucson, Mr. Raven was an associate with Fried, Frank, Shriver & Jacobson in New York City, and a member of the New York Bar. After his public service in Tucson, Mr. Raven passed the Arizona Bar and went into private practice, in which he has continued ever since.  Mr. Raven is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubble.

Among Mr. Raven’s representative clients have been Citibank, Wells Fargo, Diamond Ventures, Inc., Marinas Del Rey, S. De R.L., First American Corporation, and El Rio Santa Cruz Neighborhood Health Center, among others.
